US Treasurer Brandon Beach effectively announced a preliminary design of the coin on recently via an online platform, stating: “This is genuine. These drafts honoring America’s 250th birthday and [Trump] are real.”

The post – which highlighted another account commenting on the coin concept – mentioned that Beach looked “forward to sharing more” after the resolution of the partial government shutdown that started after Wednesday night when Democratic senators seeking compromises on medical care and other funding matters refused to provide the approval necessary to pass a GOP-supported spending legislation.

As noted, in 2020, at the end of his first administration, Trump approved cross-party law permitting the Treasury head to release $1 coins during the upcoming anniversary year that are “emblematic of the United States semiquincentennial”.

A comment from a treasury department spokesperson stated that the draft which Beach’s social media post discussed was not the “definitive coin design”. But the comment asserted that “this proposal reflects well the persistent ethos of our nation and republic, even in the midst of immense obstacles”.
